The Edmund Carr Great Baddow Charity Races

The cheque presentation following the Edmund Carr Great Baddow Charity Races took place at the Great Baddow Community Centre.  David Drain and Francis Whitbread were on hand to deliver the cheques totaling £1,350 to the main five charities supported. The Mildmay Rotary Charity Trust Fund was also a beneficiary.

A Rotary spokesperson estimated that over the years participants have raised in excess of £350,000 for various local charities.

The races this year took place on Sunday 23rd May 2010 and the hundreds of keen participants who took part in the 10 mile race had to contend with sweltering heat and blazing sunshine, as well as the distance and terrain. 

For many entrants the 2 mile fun run was by no means an easier event with some in fancy dress, and others even running backwards!
